Incident Reporting Timeliness

Incidents, injuries, property damage, spills, and near misses should be reported immediately. Delayed reporting makes it harder to treat injuries, preserve evidence, correct hazards, and understand what happened. Employees should report even minor discomfort because early care can prevent a small issue from becoming serious.

Discussion questions

  1. Where could this hazard show up in our area today?
  2. What control do we need to verify before work starts?
  3. What should be reported immediately?
