Lockout Tagout Verification

Lockout/tagout is not complete just because a lock is installed. The critical step is verification: after isolation, the authorized employee must confirm that hazardous energy has been controlled. That can include trying the start button, checking stored pressure, blocking movement, bleeding lines, or verifying zero electrical energy with the proper equipment. A skipped verification step can leave a machine unexpectedly energized.
