Slips Trips and Falls

Slips, trips, and falls are often caused by small conditions that become routine: cords across walkways, loose mats, wet floors, uneven surfaces, clutter, poor lighting, or rushed movement. Everyone owns housekeeping. Clean spills quickly, mark hazards, keep aisles clear, and report damaged walking surfaces. Three-point contact should be used on ladders and when entering or exiting equipment.

Discussion questions

  1. Where could this hazard show up in our area today?
  2. What control do we need to verify before work starts?
  3. What should be reported immediately?
