Working Around Conveyors

Conveyors create pinch points, caught-in hazards, and unexpected movement risk. Keep hands, tools, clothing, and loose items away from moving belts and rollers. Do not climb over or crawl under operating conveyors. Follow lockout/tagout requirements before clearing jams, performing maintenance, or reaching into hazardous areas.

Discussion questions

  1. Where could this hazard show up in our area today?
  2. What control do we need to verify before work starts?
  3. What should be reported immediately?
